Q.How do I make the Wedding days image display in an email? It just looks like text when I paste it in.

AIn some email software, like Outlook Express, Outlook and Mozilla based programs like Mozilla, Thunderbird and Netscape you can add text and graphics to the bottom of each email by creating an HTML file and then installing it as your signature.

For AOL, MSN Hotmail and Yahoo you paste your code into the Signature box in Mail options.

You can also use the tickers with Incredimail and MacMail.

Image signatures such as those on Daisypath are not an option for all email applications. If you access your email through your ISP's website (often called webmail) you most probably won't be able to have an HTML signature. There is a list here of webmails that I have been told don't allow HTML signatures, but to be sure; check with your webmail support.

Also, many people prefer plain text email (no text formatting, no images) because it is more secure so some people you email will not be able to see the ticker in your signature.

AUsing a Daisypath signature with Webmail:

Many web-based email programs will display HTML mail so you can see a Wedding days that has been sent to you, but if you paste the Wedding days HTML code snippet into the signature field it just displays as text not an image. You can check with your Internet Provider's support whether there signature field allows HTML signatures for your Webmail.

What you can do with some Webmail applications such as Comcast, is to add the Wedding days as an attachment. When you, or the intended recipients open the email, the attachment will open at the bottom of the e-mail as the ticker. The downside, is that you have to attach the Wedding days each time.

To add a Wedding days as an attachment:

Create an HTML signature file.
Save it somewhere that you always have access to (such as saving it in an e-mail sent to yourself and saved in your online saved folder).
Each time you send an e-mail, attach the html file you created.

Alternatively, if you are running Windows, you can set up an email program such as Outlook Express to send and receive your email, no matter what ISP you are using. Outlook Express comes standard with all installations of Windows and your ISP will generally have instructions in their Help section as to how to set up Outlook Express with your account. You can then use the step-by-step instructions here to add a Daisypath signature to your email account.

For Mac users, there is an excellent free email program called Thunderbird that you can use for your email. There are step-by-step instructions here to add your Daisypath signature to Thunderbird.

So, far we have been unable to use the Anniversary ticker with the majority of Webmails signature fields eg. Comcast webmail, Wmconnect mail, iwon mail, Bellsouth,Charter, Cox, Earthlink, Aim webmail, Blueyonder mail and Verizon mail.

Let me know if you have any success using the ticker with these programs or find other email programs that it doesn't work with.

For plain text emails tools that don't allow graphic signatures I just have a link to the image. e.g.;

AAs well as the Webmail programs listed no one has reported any success using the tickers with Mac Eudora.

AMozilla based email clients have a special attribute in the image tag to let the program know not to try and send the signature image with the email. To add a Daisypath Wedding Days to your email, create the signature HTML as per the instructions here:
Create HTML signature file. The only difference is you need to add the attribute moz-do-not-send="true" to the img tag before you save your signature file.
E.g.

To install your signature file:

In your folder menu right click on your account and choose Properties.
Tick Attach this signature.
Click on Choose and browse to where you have saved your signature file.
Click on Open, then OK. Your signature has been installed.

NB. Your signature will only appear as an image when you are composing your emails in HTML. If the signature is displaying as text only go to Composition & Addressing in your Account Settings and check Compose messages in HTML format. Click on OK

Q.How do I add my Wedding days to my Gmail email?

AThere is a signature field under Settings / General in Gmail, but it doesn't accept HTML so if you paste your Daisypath HTML code snippet it will just display it as text. To add your Wedding days to an email in Gmail you need to paste the image directly into the message body when you compose an email. I have only tested this on a PC so far, I will update this FAQ when I get a chance to test on a Mac.

For Internet Explorer you can copy-and-paste in the image:

Have your ticker open in your browser.
Right click on the ticker image and choose Copy.
Log in to Gmail, click on Compose Mail
Right click in the message body and choose Paste

For Mozilla based browsers such as Firefox. You need to click-drag the images in.
To click-drag:

Open one browser window with your Daisypath ticker
In a separate window, log in to Log in to Gmail, click on Compose Mail.
Set the windows up so that you can click on the image in Daisypath and keeping the mouse button down, drag it over to your Gmail window.

If you want to include the left side photo as well, go back to your ticker and copy-and-paste, or click-drag the photo as well.

Q.Why isn't my Anniversary ticker counting down, it has been showing the same text for the last few days.

AIf it is not updating in your email application it is because the program is cacheing the image rather than getting a new copy when you view it.

If you want to see the new image when you view your email you will need to work out how to refresh the image. This will depend on the email application.

If it is web based you could try holding down the Shift key while your press your browser Refresh button to force a full refresh of the page.

For Outlook or Outlook Express you may need to change your Internet Explorer settings. This is because Outlook shares the Internet Connections settings with IE.

Go to Tools / Options / Connection in Outlook.
Click on Change...
Select the General tab, then Settings..
Under Temporary Internet files you can see how often your browser is set to Check for new versions of stored pages. I have mine set to Automaticaly, if you have this and your ticker image isn't updated you could try Every visit to the page.

By the way, you can get to the same dialogue box through IE by going to Tools / Internet Options etc.

Of course, all this is only based on my use of Outlook and Outlook Express. If you need more advice you are probably better to check with Microsoft support.
