Q & A
Q.When I try to sign in, or sign up for My Daisypath, I get an error saying Cookies are required. What are cookies and why are they required?
AA cookie is a very small text file that is stored on your computer by a web site. A cookie cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is unique to your computer and can only be read by the web site that gave it to you.
Click here for more information about our Privacy Policy.

When you log in to your Daisypath account, a cookie is stored on your computer so that we know who logged in. If you select Remember my details on this computer the page will ask your computer to keep the cookie for a year, if you don't the cookie will only be stored until you turn off your browser.

It is not recommended that you use the Remember my details on this computer option if you share a computer with people that you don't want to be able to edit your tickers.

Your browser may be set up to block all cookies, or only save the cookie for this session or until you turn off the browser. In this case, you may want to add Daisypath.com to a list of exceptions that allow sites to store cookies. There are instructions at the following links for how to update your cookie settings.

If your browser is not on this list, contact me and I will add it to the list and let you know how to update your cookie settings.
Q.Do I need a My Daisypath to create a ticker?
AYou don't need to register to create a ticker. The My Daisypath area is just so that you can come back later and edit your tickers. This means that you can change the image options, photo, dates or wording on your ticker without having to go to all the places where you are using your ticker and update the code.

If you don't want to create a My Daisypath, you can still use the Remember my details on this computer? option when you create your ticker to save a ticker cookie on your computer. More about this option. This will let you come back and edit your ticker on the same computer as long as the ticker cookie remains in your browser.

Q.How do I create a My Daisypath account?
ATo create a My Daisypath account, go to the My Daisypath page and sign up. You will need to enter your name, email address and password. You will then be sent a welcome email with some details for how to use your account. As soon as you create a My Daisypath account, you can start adding tickers to it.
Q.How do I add new tickers to my Daisypath?
AIf you are signed in, any new tickers you create are automatically added to your Daisypath.

If you aren't signed in, you can use the Add to my Daisypath button when you have created your ticker. This will take you to the sign in page, then once you have logged in (or signed up) your new ticker will be added to your account.

Q.How do I add my old tickers to my Daisypath?
AIf you previously used the Remember my details on this computer? option when you created your tickers, those tickers will automatically be added to your account when you sign up for your Daisypath -- provided the cookies for those tickers are still in your browser.

If you didn't use this option, or the cookies have been cleared you won't be able to add them to your Daisypath.

Q.How do I edit or update my ticker?
 ATo edit your ticker:
  1. Sign in to your Daisypath account
  2. Click on Display all tickers.
  3. Click on the ticker you want to edit.
  4. Click through the steps, making any changes you would like.
  5. Click on Create ticker. This will update your ticker.
NB If you are adding, removing or resizing a left-side photo, you may need to re copy-and-paste your code snippet to where you are using it. There is more about updating your photo at these 3 FAQ.
Q.The age shown on my birthday ticker is wrong. How do I fix it?
ACheck that the birth date that you entered is correct, by following the steps for Editing or updating your ticker and clicking through to Step 3.

If the birth date is correct, the age shown will be correct. It can look wrong because there isn't an even number of weeks in a month. The way it works on Daisypath is to count the number of months, and then divide the number of days remaining into weeks and days. The best way to check is visually on a calendar.

For instance, using a 2nd birthday ticker for a child born on the 9th of May, 2004, and looking at the ticker on the 25th June, 2005. On the 9th of June, the child was 1 year, 1 month old. There are 16 days between the 9th of June and the 25th of June so the Wedding days will display 1 year, 1 month, 2 weeks and 2 days.

Q.I deleted my photo but it is still displaying on my web page? How do I get rid of it?
AWhen you have a photo with your ticker, the code snippet for your ticker contains two separate image URLs; the first one is for your photo and the second img url is for your ticker. When you delete the photo, it removes the image URL from the code snippet it creates for you, but doesn't remove the photo from the Daisypath server.

If you are already using the ticker, you will need to go to where you are using the code snippet and either: edit it to remove the photo image URL, or replace the code snippet.

Q.I added a photo but it is not displaying on my web page? How do I get it to show up?
AWhen you have a photo with your ticker, the code snippet for your ticker contains two separate image URLs; the first one is for your photo and the second img url is for your ticker. When you add a photo to an existing ticker, it adds the image URL to the code snippet it creates for you.

If you are already using the ticker, you will need to go to where you are using the code snippet and replace it with the code snippet that includes the photo's image URL.

Q.I updated my photo and now the new photo is distorted on my web page. What happened?
AWhen you upload your photo, the width and height of the image are added to your HTML code snippet. Unfortunately, this means that if you update the photo with a different format image you also need to update the HTML wherever you are using it.

If you prefer not to have to update the dimensions in future, you can try removing the width and height attributes and in most cases the image will display correctly, but on some forums they won't.

For instance, in this example code, the size attributes for the photo are width="100" height="80"

<a href="http://daisypath.com"><img src="http://daisypath.com/pic/061104/rZhZ.jpg" alt="Daisypath 1st Birthday Pic" width="100" height="80" border="0" /><img src="http://b1.daisypath.com/-LB9p11.png" alt="Daisypath 1st Birthday Ticker" border="0" width="400" height="80" /></a>

Without them, the HTML looks like this:

<a href="http://daisypath.com"><img src="http://daisypath.com/pic/061104/rZhZ.jpg" alt="Daisypath 1st Birthday Pic" border="0" /><img src="http://b1.daisypath.com/-LB9p11.png" alt="Daisypath 1st Birthday Ticker" border="0" width="400" height="80" /></a>

Q.How do I sign out of my Daisypath?
ATo sign out of your account. Click on the Sign out link at the top left of the page. You can also sign out, by clicking on the Sign out link on the My Daisypath page.
Q.How do I change my name, email address or password for my Daisypath?
AIf you would like to change the name, email address or password for your Daisypath. Sign in to My Daisypath, and click on the Change my name, email address or password link under Account options. This will let you change any of your personal information.
Q.I have forgotten my password. How do I sign in to my account?
 ATo reset your password:
  1. Click on the Forgotten your password? link below password on the My Daisypath page
  2. Enter your email address. An email will be sent out to your email address.
  3. Click on the reset password link in the email that is sent to you.
  4. Type your new password into the Password and Confirm password fields.
  5. Click on the Modify Password button and your password will be updated.
  6. You can now sign in to your account using the new password.
Q.What happened to the Remember my details on this computer? option when I create my ticker?
AIf you are signed in, any new tickers you create are automatically added to your Daisypath so the Remember my details on this computer? option isn't needed.
